Production

The production of seeds from AGRI OBTENTIONS meets three major objectives:

• Quantity
  The first goal consists in increasing the volumes of the first generations in order to provide a sufficient supply, and therefore to quickly promote the genetic progress.
• Quality
  This crucial element hinges around two parameters:
1. The purity wagers security in the insurance of a seed in conformity with the created variety.
2. The germination capacity, another determining factor and a guarantee for the production of our farmers.
This quality is specified by strict certification standards for seeds under the control of French Official Control Office (SOC).
• Traceability
  As a key element in the transfer of genetic progress, the continuous follow–up at every stage is guaranteed for all generations, from the creation of the variety to the certified seeds supplied to the farmer.

In order to meet these triple requirements, the production of seeds relies on:

• Un A network of farmers to propagate the seeds (today, more than a hundred farmers across the whole French territory).
• Une A professional team under the responsibility of a production manager. The team of technicians guarantees the follow–up and the control of the propagation plots.
• A modern factory, located in Guyancourt (78), with specific equipment which enables us to clean, treat and package the certified seeds of all our species.
• A control laboratory which allows us to validate the quality and the traceability of the seeds at every stage, from production right through to certification. This laboratory, equipped with the CERTISEM software, has obtained licenses and accreditations from SOC for numerous species.
• Close partnerships with several seed producing companies.
